Heroin, Cocaine, $15K Seized In Wayne Drug Bust

WAYNE, N.J. – Acting on a tip to its narcotics tip line, the Wayne Police Department seized 160 glassine baggies of suspected heroin, 10 bags of suspected powdered cocaine, 15 bags of suspected crack cocaine, and over $1,500, and arrested two people, police said.

The arrests came after undercover detectives observed a narcotics transaction take place at the Valley Terrace Apartment Complex on Knox Terrace Wednesday, police said.

They arrested Steven Williams, 40, of Paterson and Jamie Contrano, 40, of Wayne.

Williams was charged with: possession of heroin; distribution of heroin; possession of cocaine; distribution of cocaine; possession of crack cocaine; distribution of crack cocaine; and was given a motor vehicle summons for possession of narcotics in the motor vehicle, police said.

Contrano was charged with possession of heroin and obstruction of the administration of the law, police said.
